Summer Hydrangeas

The table this week is styled to celebrate the first day of Summer.    Living in South Florida we started to feel Summertime temps in late April.    The past few weeks we have been saturated with flooding rains.  The  thunderstorms that cool us down a bit only steam us up again as soon as they pass by.   I'm sure most of my friends living in more normal temperatures are enjoying beautiful blooming hydrangeas.   I found the table cloth on this weeks table a couple weeks ago and thought it would be perfect for the first day of Summer.
Summer hydrangeas places setting.   I used the Napoleon Bee flatware from Horchow to coordinate with the bee hives on the plates.  The flatware is currently on sale.

The grass green wine glasses are from Dollar Tree.

I used two Valerie Parr Hill illuminated mercury glass candle holders topped with her faceted glass hurricanes.   I also used two of her hydrangea candle rings around the hurricanes.

The silver artichokes are from the Lisa Robertson Collection.   The pretty porcelain purple iris is by Capodimonte.

The iris napkin rings have been in my collection for 30 plus years.

The stack starts with the Nicole Miller table cloth that I found at HomeGoods a couple weeks ago.   The white chargers are from Michael's a few years ago.   The lavender plates are a thrift store find.
The herb themed salad plates are from Tuesday Morning and in store now.   I thought the colors would match perfectly with the table cloth.

The iris tea set along with the crystal iris were gifts from my Mom.

Happy Summer!

  1. Your Summer tablescape is beautiful ! I love the purple thru it all. The china is gorgeous, each plate. You did a fab job finding that lovely table topper.
The bee flatware is lovely too.
I did my Father's Day setting with the other side of the placemats.
    Happy Father's Day.

    1. Thank you so much Fabby. It was a fun table to pull together and I actually picked up the salad plates this past week. Funny how you can have everything planned out then see something else and change it. Heading over your way to see your Father's Day tablescape now. Have a lovely weekend and enjoy Father's Day!

  3. Beautiful Cathy...purple flowers are a favorite of mine. I wish we could have lilacs here in Florida as I am sure you do too....but purple iris and hydrangeas are always welcome...even if on a tablescape. :)

  4. I like all the different yet complementary floral dinner plates! So pretty! South Florida can send some of that rain here to the Midwest any time now, please! :-) We are parched!!!

    1. Thank you Alycia. I wish I could send some of the rain your way. Before long, we will be dry and waiting for a hurricane to give us some water. Hopefully you will get some rain out that way soon.

  5. What a stunning tablescape!! The colours are gorgeous, I love the herbal plates and the green stemware. I've seen these before (green glasses) and I'm 'green' with envy - we don't have them where I live in Canada. Thanks for sharing your beautiful design.

    1. Thank you so much Carol. I have used the green Dollar Tree glasses many times on my tables. They are the perfect shade of green. Hopefully you will find them in Canada one day soon. Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

    1. Thank you so much! They are beautiful flowers and I wish we could grown them in South Florida. I enjoying buying them at Trader Joe's every so often, but sadly they do not last very long.
