Flamingo Finale

It's hard to believe Summer 2017 will be ending in three weeks.  Living in hot and humid South Florida we look forward to Fall, but the cooler temperatures will not show up until late December or January.    I have  two more Summer themed tables planned then it will be time to break out the pumpkins, acorns and pine cones and celebrate Fall.  It's time to say so long to the pretty flamingos this week.    I have enjoyed my beautiful pink feather friends and look forward to their return next Summer.

Flamingo Finale

 Place setting.

I love the fun flamingo soup bowls by Cynthia Rowley.

The cut black glass champagne flutes were found at Home Goods last week.   I purchased them to use on  my New Years Eve table, but I really like them on this table.

I tucked one of the Fontanini palm trees inside the lantern with a flameless Lisa Robertson candle and a small flamingo.

Flamingo salt & pepper shakers are from Cracker Barrel last Summer.  The palm trees are made by Fontanini and were purchased at the Christmas Palace in Fort Lauderdale.   They are made to go with a nativity, but I use them often on my tropical tablescapes.
Centerpiece lantern, shells and flamingos.

The wine charms are Lilly Pulitzer.

I found these cute flamingo drink skewers at Target this Summer.

The Kate Spade napkins are from Home Goods.

The tablecloth is made from fabric purchased recently at Calico Corners in Boca Raton.   The minute I spotted this fabric on the roll in the store I new it would be perfect with the Cynthia Rowley plates.

The layers.

The plate stack starts with a high gloss black charger plate.  The dinner plate was purchased this Spring at Home Goods.   The flamingo plates are by Cynthia Rowley Summer 2016 and found at Home Goods.

Colonial Tradewinds

The beautiful Lenox Colonial Tradewind salad plates were the inspiration for this weeks tablescape.   I purchased these a few years ago on sale at Macy's.   They are part of the British Colonial Collection. I mixed in a Tommy Bahama table cloth and my Grandmother's wedding china Bali-Hai by Kent.

The Lenox Colonial Tradewind salad plates are currently on sale at Macy's.  I would love to own this entire china collection. It's stunning in person.

The stack starts with antique gold metal plate rings I purchased a few years ago from Wisteria.   The dinner plate is the Bali-Hai fine china pattern by Kent.  I have the complete china set that belonged to my Grandmother Dorothy.   I wish I knew when she acquired this china.  This was her fine china that she used for all family and holiday gatherings.  Replacements , Ltd. currently has it available.   I found several dinner and other assorted pieces at a local designer thrift store recently.   Of course I had to pick them up and add to the collection.  The top plate is the Lenox salad plate.

The Tommy Bahama Palm Leaf tablecloth was purchased at Home Goods this season.

The layers.

The Rebacraft Bamboo by Reed & Barton  stainless flatware was a gift from my Mom to put in my "Hope Chest" in the late 70's.  Did anyone else have a "Hope Chest" years ago?  I used this flatware for over 20 years.  My Mom gifted me a new set of flatware over 10 years ago.   I could not part with the bamboo flatware and I'm happy I stored it away.  It works nicely with tropical tables.

The napkin rings are rattan with a dark stain.  I used a teal color napkin to bring out the pretty tropical blue color in the tablecloth.

The turquoise champagne flutes look nice with the blues in the plates and tablecloth.  It reminds of the turquoise waters off my coast.

I used a tall ship as the centerpiece to match the one in the salad plate.

I found this fishing trawler model and wooden ship Captain while shopping in one of my hometown antique shops in Lexington, NC this Summer.
