Autumn Elegance

The table this week celebrates the warm tones of Autumn.   Living in South Florida we do not have the change of season and the beautiful leaves.   While I was home in North Carolina last month for my Dad's celebration of life service the leaves were beginning to change.   During a trip to the mall in Winston-Salem to pick up a few things for the service I posted a live Facebook video as I was driving.  I mentioned in the video how much I missed the change of seasons and the beautiful leaves.   My dear friend Cyndi Nifong was watching the video and graciously gifted me with this beautiful fine china.  She thought they would be perfect for one of my tables and give me a taste of Autumn in South Florida.    She was correct and I know I will use these plates for many years go come.

The pretty china was made by Yamaka China in Japan.  The pattern is named September Song.  The leaves on the plate are gray and rust.  I found this tablecloth last week at Marshall's and it coordinates nicely with the plates.

The illuminated glass hurricane with harvest ring is part of the Valerie Parr Hill Collection on QVC.  It comes with a battery operated candle, but  I used Realistic LED Flame from the Lisa Robertson inside the hurricane.  You can see the candle in the photo below.

I scattered beaded and glittered acorn filler by Valerie around the centerpiece and on the server.

The copper hammered napkins rings are from Pier One .  The do not have the copper in stock on their website, but they have gold and silver.

The goblets were purchase at Home Goods in August.   They are made by Patina Vie.  The pattern is Milan Luxe.  The crimson and 18kt yellow gold blend with the other copper and gold items.

The illuminated mercury glass pumpkins with timers are by Valerie Parr Hill and available at QVC.  I ordered them in gold and orange.

The illuminated pumpkins are so pretty with the lighting turned down low.

Overhead view of the table.

The layers.  I used a copper metallic place mat in the center of the table.

The stack starts with a gold beaded edge charger plate.  I used a dinner plate, soup then a saucer to hold the illuminated pumpkin.

I have always wanted gold flatware and I found a steal at Home Goods last week on clearance.  They are Gourmet Basics By Mikasa Halston Gold-Plated.

I fell in love with this Metal Pumpkin Carriage by Valerie when it was shown on QVC.   It's curently out of stock, but hopefully it will return next season.  I used one of Valerie's Autumn Beauty candle rings with a flameless candle from the Lisa Robertson Collection.

Thank you Cyndi Nifong for the lovely china set.   I will enjoy it for many more years to come.

    1. Thank you Linda. A dear friend gave it to me on my visit home to NC last month. As soon as we returned from the church service for my Dad she came over to brothers and put a full set of this china in my trunk to bring home to Florida. It really does bring in the Fall feeling here in hot and humid South Florida. I'm happy I found a deal on the gold flatware. It's not the quality weight wise that I'm use to, but I will be using it for tablescaping only. I purchase the bee pattern from Horchow a couple months ago. I love the weight of that pattern. Now, I just need to get it on a table soon.

  3. That china is lovely, what a sweet gift! Your table is so pretty and does have that "fall" feeling. I would miss it, too, if I lived in FL. Our leaves were late changing this year but finally they have gotten color. I love your goblets, too, how unusual they are! They look so pretty on this table. The lighted pumpkins are the crowning touch. Thanks for sharing this table with us.

    1. Thank you so much Joy. My friend was so nice to gift me with this lovely china. My family and friends in NC told me the leaves were late up that way too. I do miss the change of season. Hopefully we will have cooler weather in Jan/Feb. I'm ready for it.
