Thanksgiving Pheasants

The Thanksgiving table was inspired by a table that was decorated for a Dallas Kappa Kappa Gamma Designer tablescape event two years ago.   Two friends shared a newspaper article from their local paper and photos of this table with me a few months ago and I loved it. I posted the photo at the very bottom of this post.   I loved the color combination of the blue hydrangeas with orange flowers.   I would love to be able to attend the annual Dallas event and see the beautiful tables in person.   I'm sorry for posting so many pictures, but it was hard to select just a few.   Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

I was happy to find blue hydrangeas at Trader Joe's.   They were not as deep blue as the flowers in my Mom's North Carolina garden, but they are pretty.   I searched for orange roses, but no luck at the local markets.  I mixed the real flowers with silk flowers and put in a blue and white pot that I purchased at Garden Ridge many year ago.   I also used a 5 foot gold magnolia leaf garland from Lisa Robertson in the center of the table and one on the server.   As of this post they currently in stock at lisarobertson.com   I originally purchased them to mix in with my pine Christmas garland, but love they richness they add to the table.
The cobalt blue vases belonged to my Grandmother.

The candle rings are by Valerie Parr Hill on QVC .

The Milan Luxe gold and coral goblets are by Patina Vie and were purchased at Home Goods.  I've had the cobalt blue glasses for a few years.

I think I have used the same burnt orange napkins on the last three tables.  I inserted a taupe/gray napkin in to the orange to tie in the taupe/gray color in the tablecloth.  I inserted a sprig of Rosemary in to the beaded napkin ring along with pheasant feathers.

The turkey platter belonged to my Mother.  I remember this platter from my childhood.  She served many delicious turkey's on this platter over the years.

The tablecloth is by Ralph Lauren.  I love the blue and gray combination.

I've had these clay gold leaf embossed chargers for many years.

The clay color dinner plates are from Dollar Tree.

The pheasant plates are from the Ballard Designs and were part of the Bunny Williams collection. The pheasant in the center is surrounded by popular French Pheasant recipe titles. Recipe names include: Faisandeau aux Champignons des Bois, Pâté de Faisan en Croûte, and Faisan au Chou. Which translates respectively to Braised pheasant with wild mushrooms, Pastry filled with pheasant pate, and Pheasant with cabbage and herbs.

My tablescape is above.  The inspiration tablescape is below.
This is the table designed by Cindy Zelazny of Antique Row.  I only wish I had a larger table to add more beautiful items in center.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
