Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday so it's time to celebrate Mardi Gras and enjoy some delicious New Orleans food.   I have visited New Orleans several times and I must say the food is always amazing.   I think it would be fun to attend the Mardi Gras celebrations one year and enjoy the parades and music. For now, I will celebrate tomorrow with a hot bowl of gumbo,  jambalaya and king cake.   I will also find some live zydeco music online to enjoy while having dinner.     Laissez les bon temps rouler!

  1. Hello, Catherine
Love your fabulous Mardi Gras table -- so colorful and pretty! As a Louisiana native (also named Catherine!), I can appreciate the occasion of Mardi Gras and Gumbo! Well done!

    2. Thank you for your kind words Catherine. Being a native of Louisiana I'm sure you have lots of great memories of Mardi Gras and making Gumbo and other yummy recipes. Thank you for following the blog. I've been at it 9 months now and I really enjoy it.

  2. Catherine, your Mardi Gras table is gorgeous. The colors, the accessories are amazing. People always ask me where I store it all. I see you have that problem too...lol. You left no stone unturned in this lovely table. So happy you are sharing with DI&DI.

    1. THank you Linda. Yes, storage is very limited and I make use of every crook and cranny to store items and I have a storage unit. Props and event/seasonal decor take up space, but plates are the most difficult. I just bought four more sets of four last weekend at Homegoods and it's time to start donating some older ones to Goodwill in order to find a storage slot for the new ones. Have a lovely Sunday and I hope to see you DI&DI tomorrow evening or Monday with a new table.

  5. Beautiful, fun, and festive table! I enjoyed a visit to New Orleans several years back, though not at Mardi Gras, and yes, the food was so delicious! Your decorations are wonderful as usual, and I'm glad you had a King Cake to enjoy. I missed that this year, but I did get pancakes and all the "trimmings" from our pancake supper at church.

    1. Thank you Joy! NOLA is a fun place to visit and enjoy the delicious food and music. I haven't been there since Katrina, but I understand the French Quarter is back to normal these days. I did enjoy the King Cake. I ate way too much of it, but I only have it once a year so I guess that will be okay.
