Tropical Flamingos

I like pink birds and I cannot lie.... (the Sir Mix-A-Lot tune is playing in my head)   Yes, I am addicted to pink flamingos.  The table this week was inspired by the lovely flamingo plates I found at Home Goods earlier this Spring.   I found some gorgeous pink and green shopping bags that I knew would match perfectly to make placemats.  The shopping bag placemat tutorial is on the blog.

The flamingo wine glasses were found at Marshalls earlier this Summer.

The flamingo is from Orchard Garden Center.

I made the pom pom/popcorn stitch napkin rings and the placemates.   The flamingo glasses are from Marshalls.   The napkins are bandannas and were found at Walmart.

Flamingo bandannas work great as napkins.
Seaside, coastal feel server.  The mercury glass spheres are from the Valerie Parr Hill collection at QVC.   The glass floats were found at Home Goods.

I found the pretty flamingo serving platter at Home Goods.

The illuminated mercury glass spheres are so pretty at night with the lights turned low.

I used a shopping bag to make the placemats.  You can check out the tutorial with detailed instructions on the blog.

The plate stack starts with the shopping bag placemat, the hot pink scalloped edge dinner plate, mint green dinner plate and topped with the tropical flamingo salad purchased at Home Goods.

  2. This year I got addicted to them too! I like the dishes you found and the Pink Flamingo piece. I tried to find one but they were too tall or a plastic blow up. I am amazed at the wonderful placemats you made using the bags. Cheers to Flamingos!

I love pink flamingos (doesn't EVERYBODY?) - and this remarkable collection really does make the room look like instant party! I'll never get it together to make placemats, LOL, but it looks like a very clever idea. Thanks for sharing!
