Doggie Easter Parade

It's hard to believe Easter is this weekend.   This year is zooming by way too fast.    I love decorating for Easter.  I have a great supply of Easter dished and had my table planned out until  I found these plates at Pier 1 last week.   They big yellow dog in middle reminds me of my first dog Casey.  My current dog Cooper (pictures below) is also yellow and he really has bunny like ears.  I hope everyone will have a blessed Easter and enjoy special time with your loved ones.

The place setting.   I love these happy plates!

The plate stack starts with a scalloped edge turquoise charger I recently found at Tuesday Morning.   The pink plates are from HomeGoods.  The Dog Easter Parade plates are from Pier 1. The table cloth is from HomeGoods this season.
It was difficult to get a great picture of the plate. They are currently on sale at Pier 1.

I made this picture of Cooper last year at Easter.

I used several illuminated pedestals, crystal faceted hurricanes and illuminated mercury glass tulips from the Valerie Parr Hill Collection at QVC.  The foiled egg candle rings are also from Valerie.

The pink goblets belonged to my Grandmother.  She used these with her Desert Rose everyday dishes.

The table is so colorful at night.

The foiled egg candle rings are by Valerie Parr Hill.

I love the Faberge Lilies of the Valley egg.  I made these eggs a few years ago and surrounded the egg holder with a Valerie Parr Hill beaded napkin ring.

I made the ceramic bunnies in the early 80's.

The Wallace Silversmith Napoleon Bee flatware.

I've had the Faberge style wine charms for several years.

I found this cute napkin idea on Pinterest. I decorated the plastic eggs years ago with puff paint.

I used Valerie Parr Hills Spring hydrangea & magnolia garland with matching candle rings on the server.

Happy Easter!

Welcome Spring

I am so happy Spring has finally arrived.   Of course living in South Florida that means the hot temperatures and humidity is back until December.   The table this week is styled with my favorite flower the blue iris.    I added in a few daffodils in the mix as they are blooming now in the yards of many of my friends and family members up North.   I really miss the Spring bulbs.  I had so many flower beds over the years at my homes in North Carolina.  One iris bed had over 500 bulbs and it was amazing in the Spring.  For now, I will have to enjoy the beauty of the iris plates indoors.

First day of Spring tablescape.

I used a ceramic pitcher that I made in the early 80's in the centerpiece.  I placed two hydrangea and berry rings by Valerie Parr Hill a the base.

The cobalt stemless wine goblets are from Dollar Tree.

The silk daffodil napkin rings were purchased at the Country Store in my hometown of Welcome, North Carolina a few years ago.  The items in the store are made by retired crafters and the funds raised from purchases help the senior citizens in my hometown.  I always love shopping at the Country Store when I'm home and finding unique items for my tablescapes.

I made used fine point Sharpies to draw the placecards last year for my Easter tablescape.

I used a 4' hydrangea and berry garland by Valerie Parr Hill on the server.   I added in a couple blue iris pieces that I have on display year round on a bakers rack in the dining area.

Overhead view of the table.

The stack starts with gold clay engraved charger plates.  I used the blue and white tablecloth that I made last year with cloth from Ballard Designs.  The beautiful blue iris plates were purchased at HomeGoods in Winston-Salem on my visit home last June.  I have been dying to use these plates.  They are made by Royal Stafford in England.   I recently stumbled across bowls that matched the plates in TJMaxx.   It was hard to pass them up, but I left them for someone else to enjoy.   I haven't noticed these in HomeGoods yet this season in South Florida.   They do have a pretty red poppy from the same collection that may end up in my massive plate collection to use on Veterans Day.

The tablecloth is made from Ballard Designs fabric.

Happy Shamrock Day

It's time again for the wearing of the green.   Being a redhead with fair skin, freckles and green eyes I feel sure I'm a wee bit Irish.  Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day!

The table is dressed in greens, golds and loaded with shamrocks.

I used a bronze metal votive twig tree in the center of the table.  It's loaded with kelly green and lime shamrocks, hats and gold coins.

I found the green and white drinking glasses last year at a local thrift store.  I knew they would be perfect for St. Patty's Day.  I've had the cut glass shamrock for many years.  I believe it belonged to my Grandmother Smith.

I used the shamrock wine charms I made on the Irish Coffee mugs.

The little leprechaun is perched in a beautiful kelly green glass bowl surrounded by shamrocks.

The server decorations.

Overhead view of the table.

The plate stack.

The gold clay carved chargers are from Old Time Pottery.   The dinner plates are MacKenzie Childs Courtly Check.   The shamrock plates are from HomeGoods several years ago.  I placed the Irish Coffee mug and sauce on top.
