Let the Good Times Roll!

Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday and the last night of eating fabulously rich foods and drinking hurricanes  before the Lenten fasting begins.    I actually had a bowl of delicious gumbo today and will have the remaining tomorrow evening.   I normally buy a King Cake, but I'm trying my best to not eat sugar so I passed on the cake this year.  I love using the royal and regal colors of carnival on the table each year.  It's bright during the day, but also very colorful at night.

I used a porcelain jester and a lamp post in the centerpiece. The lamp post is from the Dickens Christmas collection by Valerie Parr Hill.   I removed the Christmas wreath and added the Bourbon Street sign.

I found the musical instrument garland in my Mom's Christmas ornaments a few years ago.   I knew the minute I found it I would use it on my Mardi Gras tablescapes.

I used Mardi Gras themed beads found at Party City to make napkin rings.

I added the musical instrument Christmas ornaments with each napkin.

The kelly green and purple glassware works great on this table.

Overhead view of the table.

The plate stack.  The top plate is actually a paper.

The server.  All of the hurricanes and lamps are from the Valerie Parr Hill collection.   I placed a crown on top of the tall hurricane.

The smaller hurricanes are normally clear.  I place a piece of green tissue inside each hurricane then added in the micro lights.

Evening view of the server.  It's magical.

Full disclosure, I did not make the gumbo.   Publix has it in their frozen seafood section and it's just easier.  I added in the two shrimp.  I love to make gumbo, but it's just me and it takes forever to eat a pot.
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
