Tomorrow is Fat Tuesday and the last night of eating fabulously rich foods and drinking hurricanes before the Lenten fasting begins. I actually had a bowl of delicious gumbo today and will have the remaining tomorrow evening. I normally buy a King Cake, but I'm trying my best to not eat sugar so I passed on the cake this year. I love using the royal and regal colors of carnival on the table each year. It's bright during the day, but also very colorful at night.
I found the musical instrument garland in my Mom's Christmas ornaments a few years ago. I knew the minute I found it I would use it on my Mardi Gras tablescapes. |
I used Mardi Gras themed beads found at Party City to make napkin rings. |
I added the musical instrument Christmas ornaments with each napkin. |
The kelly green and purple glassware works great on this table. |
Overhead view of the table. |
The plate stack. The top plate is actually a paper. |
The server. All of the hurricanes and lamps are from the Valerie Parr Hill collection. I placed a crown on top of the tall hurricane. |
The smaller hurricanes are normally clear. I place a piece of green tissue inside each hurricane then added in the micro lights. |
Evening view of the server. It's magical. |
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
